This is Calyston’s actual interface — a fresh install, before any camera is added. Nothing is a mock-up: navigate the tabs, open the dialogs, run a network scan. Saving is disabled.  ← Back to calyston.com

Current version: 1.0

Camera settings — bulk apply

Set motion sensitivity, substream URL, and enabled state across multiple cameras at once. Select cameras, optionally load values from one camera, then hit Apply.

1 = least sensitive, 100 = most sensitive.

Low-res RTSP stream used for motion detection (leave blank to use the main stream).

ENABLED

Controls whether the camera records & streams. Disabling stops recording and live view for that camera.

Load values from:
TARGET CAMERAS

No cameras configured yet.

Backup & restore

Download cameras + setting overrides as a JSON file. Contains plaintext camera credentials — store it like a password.

Diagnostics

Download a support bundle (system info, redacted config, recent logs, audit log). Review audit_log.json before sharing.

Download diagnostics CLI: calyston-admin diag-bundle

Anonymous usage metrics

Off by default. When enabled, the hourly license heartbeat additionally carries three booleans — opened from a phone, opened from a desktop, installed as an app — so we know whether to build a native mobile app. No identifiers, no IP logging, nothing per-user. Turning it off deletes what was collected.

Restart Calyston

Restarts the Calyston service — needed after enabling GPU acceleration or changing settings marked "restart required". Recording is not interrupted; live view and this page come back in about 20 seconds. This never reboots the machine.

Restarting Calyston — back in ~20 seconds…

Home Assistant (MQTT)

Publish camera events (motion, detections, availability, snapshots) to your MQTT broker. Cameras appear automatically as Home Assistant devices — no YAML needed. Publish-only: Calyston never accepts commands over MQTT.

Push notifications

Deliver detection alerts (with the snapshot) to your phone the moment they fire. Configure any or all channels — alerts fan out to every enabled channel that has credentials. Uncheck a channel to pause it without losing its settings; the Test button still works while paused. Requires a plan with mobile push (Pro and up).

TELEGRAM

Currently using the bot from the server environment config — saving credentials here overrides it.

Admins can change anything. Viewers only see the live dashboard and events — no recordings, no settings. Handy for a TV in the hallway or family members who just want to peek at the cameras.
